The Times names Oxfordshire pub and hotel among best in the UK

With several lists recently released by the national newspaper, highlighting the best stays in the country, a local spot has made the cut.
A new collection of 33 of the UK’s best hotels for under £150 a night sees The Bull on Sheep Street in Charlbury named third.
A statement from The Times said: “An overnighter at many of this year’s Best Places to Stay can be surprisingly good value for money.

“These are the most affordable and stylish bolt holes.”
The hotel is praised for its trendy style as well as its star-studded guest list, including comedian and actor Jack Whitehall.
“This glamorously minimalist, 21st-century tavern comes with a backstory that could have come straight from a bromance movie,” reads The Times’ description.
“Having gained a reputation for the Pelican, the trendiest pub in trendy Notting Hill, Phil Winser and James Gummer couldn’t resist the chance to pull off the same trick in their old teenage stomping ground.

“Returning to the classic Cotswolds village of Charlbury, not far from Chipping Norton, they took over the 16th-century inn where they had their first pints.

Bed and breakfast double rooms start at £150 while main courses in the restaurant start at £23.
