Rather than looking at real issues, the DMK government is involved in diversional tactics like using the Tamil symbol for Rupee and opposing the Centre on the National Education Policy (NEP), said BJP leader and MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan.
An Enforcement Directorate (ED) statement on Thursday said there are incriminating documents and evidence to show financial irregularities to the tune of ₹1000 crore in TASMAC dealings.
Apart from this, Chief Minister MK Stalin has posted on X saying that the Tamil Nadu government is not using the Devanagari script for the Rupee symbol and using the Tamil symbol instead. “In protest over the two issues, we walked out of the Assembly,” she said.
Whenever an MLA or MP or ministers take oath in the name of the Constitution, they are bound to abide by Constitutional norms. The Devanagari script has been accepted by the Central Government and is officially used, she told newspersons after the walk-out.
This is how the DMK is diverting focus from the real issues of the people. They repeatedly say that NEP imposes Hindi on the people. In fact NEP gives importance to regional Indian languages, she added.
Time and again, the DMK government says it is guarding the Tamil language, pride and culture. More than them, the BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi talk highly about the Tamil language and show respect to Tamil culture. The DMK is using Tamil as a weapon for political power. But we sincerely believe in developing regional languages,” she said.
