Letter writers continue to express their distain for U.S. President Donald Trump — especially on his strong arm tactics with Ukraine.
On Feb. 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine unprovoked, murdering innocent men, women and children, and kidnapping civilians and children — some of whom they still hold hostage.
On Oct, 7, 2023, the terror group known as Hamas attacked Israel unprovoked, murdering innocent men, women and children, and kidnapping civilians and children — some of whom they still hold hostage.

On Feb. 12, 2025, the president of the United States called his idol, Vladimir Putin, to say, “Hey! Let’s get together and end this conflict. I’ll help you divvy up Ukraine. You and I can share the glory. We don’t really need that Zelenskyy guy hanging around while we do it. That way you get what you want.”
So, hang in there, Hamas. In another 18 months, you could be meeting one-on-one with Trump to divvy up Israel.
Don’t worry about the promises the USA made to Israel. They made the same ones to Ukraine.

Keep Trump out of Canada
In June of 2025, Canada will be host to the G7, celebrating 50 years since its inception.
One of the G7 leaders is a convicted felon in the U.S. and would automatically be inadmissible to Canada.
Under Canadian law “any U.S. citizen or permanent resident that has a felony conviction on their criminal record may be deemed inadmissible to Canada for the purposes of immigrating, or even if they’re merely coming to Canada to visit.”
As far as I’m aware, being the president of a country is not a legitimate exemption if that person is a felon.
Since the same president has raged against criminals entering the U.S., would it not be reasonable to assume he would understand why he should not be allowed into Canada?

Let him rail against Canada for refusing him entry. He can attend via Zoom. We won’t compromise our immigration laws, or bow to his bullying ways.

Vehicles still blocking snowplows
I’ve been hearing a lot of people complain about residential snow clearing this year.
We just had our street cleaned this morning. The operator of the grader did a very nice job.
It’s unfortunate that residents don’t get their vehicles off the street though so that they can do an even better job.
The city could receive some revenue by ticketing those vehicles — especially the ones with six to eight inches of snow on them that haven’t moved for weeks.
Many residents have large driveways or garages.
So if you don’t plan to drive your vehicle all winter, move it off the street, out of the way of graders and city garbage/recycling vehicles.
